Why Chocolate Chip Cookies?
The story of the chocolate chip cookie starts in 1938, when Ruth Wakefield at the Toll House Inn in Massachusetts stirred pieces of Nestlé chocolate into her cookie dough, expecting it to melt, all the while not knowing that she was creating an icon. What she pulled from the oven was simple, sweet magic—the very first batch of chocolate chip cookies.
Sweet Beginnings celebrates the simplicity of the the chocolate chip cookie - the treat that started its all. Since its creation in 1938, generations have fallen in love with its gooey, nostalgic, charm. More than just a cookie, its a memory in every bite, enjoyed by so many for nearly a century
About Me
Baking has always been a love language in my life. I got that from my grandmother, who raised me from the time I was 2. She shared much of her heart in the kitchen—whether it was letting me lick the spatulas of sweet batter or savoring the desserts she pulled fresh from the oven. Her favorite was lemon lush, but mine has always been the chocolate chip cookie. There’s something magical about its simplicity—just a handful of ingredients transforming into the most perfect indulgence.
Sweet Beginnings is my love letter to the chocolate chip cookie: honoring its timeless perfection while using it as a canvas for creativity and new flavors. However you enjoy them, and whomever you share them with, my hope is that each bite brings you the same joy, comfort, and love that first inspired me.
